Who We Are:

The name of the local chapter is the Austin University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff / Agricultural, Mechanical and Normal College Alumni Chapter, generally referred to as "Austin UAPB / AM&N Alumni Chapter." The membership consists of alumni and friends of the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (formerly Arkansas Agricultural, Mechanical and Normal College) who reside in the Austin, Texas area.

The goal of our alumni chapter is to build a strong Austin area base from which to support and give back to the institution that provided our education. As graduates of this Historically Black College/University, we have the opportunity and responsibility to keep the doors of this great land grant university open such that it can continue to provide opportunities for those individuals who would not otherwise have the option of pursuing higher education. We need your help and support in ensuring that African American students who desire such an education will have access to one.

We provide a scholarship to qualified freshman entering UAPB in the fall semester. Each scholarship shall be a one-time award to the selected recipient.  Read more about scholarship award criteria.

Our regular meeting date is the second Saturday of each month, at the Agape Baptist Church, 7801 North Lamar Blvd. BIdg. F-15. The telephone number is (512) 454-1547. The church is located on the southeast corner of Highway 183 and North Lamar Blvd. frontage road in the Centre Building Complex; building is trimmed in yellow in the back, just across from the Texas School Board Association.
